To familiarize myself with the object, I drew it 100 different times, using a variety of media (pen, Sharpie, graphite, oil pastel, and water color pictured here).
I rendered the toothpaste multiple times with varying degrees of light. In the end, I chose to eliminate the logo/package design and focus on the contours.
